Eel
Eel requires Fishing level 50 and a compatible tool at a marked fishing blip. Its base award is 125 Fishing XP.
Catching and locations
Reach Fishing 50 and equip Advanced Fishing Rod. Use a designated blip listing this fish and stay within 12 tiles on unprotected navigable water.
The actual blip table is filtered by tool and Fishing level. A relative weight is not an unconditional catch percentage.
| Region | Blips listing this species |
|---|---|
| Hades | 1 |
| Ares | 1 |
| Poseidon | 1 |
| Zeus | 2 |
| Artemis | 2 |
| Aphrodite | 2 |
Weight and quality
New catches weigh 0.2–31.403 kg. The distribution strongly favours lighter fish; the upper limit is a possible extreme, not an expected catch.
Quality comes from the fish’s weight percentile. Current Rare, Epic and Legendary thresholds are 75%, 95%, 99.5%. Perfect starts with a 50% base chance to reroll weight; current tool tuning can add to that chance. Weight quality adds no separate sale or XP multiplier.
Older preserved catches used 0.2–8 kg bounds. Their original weight and quality remain readable.
| Quality | Minimum weight | Percentile threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Rare | 2.954 kg | 75th percentile |
| Epic | 5.849 kg | 95th percentile |
| Legendary | 9.485 kg | 99.5th percentile |
Sale value and experience
Sale value = round up(round up(weight in grams × 7 ÷ 1,000) × 5 ÷ 2). The nominal rate is 17.5 Coins/kg. This preserves gram rounding before the final half-Coin rounding.
A successful catch awards 125 base Fishing XP. Consecutive Perfect catches give +10% Fishing XP at catches 3–4, +15% at catches 5–9 and +25% from catch 10. The catch that reaches a threshold already receives its bonus. Weight and quality do not change base XP.
Sell one fish or all carried fish at the market. Old fish retain their original weight and remain sellable under the current rule.
| Weight | Coins |
|---|---|
| 0.2 kg | 5 |
| 15.801 kg | 278 |
| 31.403 kg | 550 |
Perfect catches and bottles
A Perfect catch can produce a Message Bottle instead of a fish. The chance is set by the fishing ground: Net 1%, Fishing Rod 2%, Advanced Fishing Rod 3%, Harpoon 4%, Advanced Harpoon 5%. The ground uses the earliest tool tier supported by a species with positive weight in its catch table. Your Fishing level and equipped tool do not raise this chance. Private tutorials and boss arenas do not award bottles. Normal Fishing XP is still awarded; no fish-weight record is added.
Hawkeye can add a second fish on a Perfect catch when space is available. The bottle replacement happens first and prevents the two-fish result.
A Perfect bottle advances the streak once and receives the same Fishing XP calculation. Green catches, misses, a fled fish, stopping, cancellation and disconnect reset the Perfect streak. A committed Perfect bottle counts once. Small fractions of bonus XP carry within the streak; regional and first-voyage XP boosts apply afterward. The level-120 cap still applies.
