Fishing Rod
Fishing Rod is an equippable Fishing tool requiring level 10. It catches Sardines, Red Mullet, Sea Bass when their individual Fishing requirements are met.
Obtaining the tool
Buy Fishing Rod at the Harbour Merchant for 250 carried Coins, or 225 with active Premium. Fishing tools are sold by the Merchant; the Fishing Market is where you sell your catch.
Withdraw Coins from Storage before buying, and keep enough empty inventory slots. Each tool is a separate physical item.
Species coverage
This tool catches only its listed species when they appear at the nearby designated blip. Both tool and species requirements apply. Higher-tier tools do not catch every lower-tier species.

Equipping and using
Sail within 12 tiles of a designated fishing blip on the current-region chart and minimap, then stop in navigable water. The distance limit includes its edge. Harbours and green safe water remain closed, including the water beside the Merchant and Fish Market. Meet the blip’s tool and Fishing-level requirements, leave combat and keep an empty inventory slot.
Changing or unequipping the tool cancels the fishing session. The current tool tuning does not grant a rarity floor or an automatic fish-quality upgrade. A Perfect catch uses the same base 50% weight-reroll chance.
Storage and recovery
Carried and equipped fishing tools are included in normal death loot. Storage keeps them outside that payload. Conditions on recovery follow the same owner/enemy recovery rules as other physical items. See Survival for the current death and recovery rules.
Fishing tools taken by another looter become Broken. The current restoration service does not repair fishing tools; only intact tools can be equipped for fishing.
